The New Street Knitter Rachel's Slow Curve Collar Knitting PDF Pattern

Here's what designer Donna Pelzar says about that pattern, "Rachel’s Slow Curve" is named for my beautiful niece, Rachel. whose driving style is a tad edgy. Slow Curve reminds her to take those turns slowly."

The Slow Curve’s body is styled to follow the contour of your neck and is achieved by a simple decrease combined with yarn overs at the center. The 2 x 2 rib narrows to a 2 x 1 rib, finishing with an abbreviated collar created with short-rows. Couple this with the beautiful self-striping quality of Wisdom Poems Chunky and you have a fast knit (an evening or two) that will grace your winter and show off a favorite shawl pin.

Completed Collar Measures: 38 x 7"

This PDF downloadable knitting pattern is available after purchase.

Easy pattern, lovely collar scarf!

Written by Doreen on 13th Dec 2015

I am in the process of knitting this pattern. I really, really like it and anticipate I will be making several of these over time. It's an easy pattern, produces a lovely collar scarf, and a quick knit. Good for a last minute gift for someone.

Easy, Fun, Stylish

Written by Gay Griffin on 30th Apr 2014

What more can you ask of a pattern? It was easy to do, especially with the KAL hints and tips. it was fun, it was quick, it has a style that's timeless. It's not just another scarf, and I say that as one who loves to knit scarves. This isn't one of those patterns where you breathe a sigh of relief when it's done. I actually want to make more! Combined with the suggested yarn, you get a result that looks far greater than what you put into it. Win, win, win. And, get the companion hat pattern, too. It, too, is a joy, and it can stand on its own.

Loved making this !!

I really enjoyed the KAL for this collar ! I had been afraid of "short rows" but the instructions were clear and well illustrated. I made this in only a couple of days with the recommended yarn and it will go as a Christmas gift at the end of the year. I have a second ball of the yarn and will make a matching hat. Thanks so much ! I am looking forward to more KAL's !! Adrienne :)

Slow Curve Collar -- nearing completion

Written by AnnetteDS on 2nd Feb 2014

I am finishing the slow curve collar as part of the KAL with the recommended yarn. Thank goodness for the Noble Knits KAL -- each of the techniques was well described and documented in photos. Similar to one of the other reviewers, I also ran out of yarn. Almost done and it is truly beautiful. Would suggest purchasing a second skein of yarn if you plan to make the slow curve collar.

An Attractive and Quick-to-Knit Cowl

Written by undefined on 30th Jan 2014

This pattern knits up quickly and easily. It also had a few new techniques. The directions were easy to follow. The recommended yarn is very pretty and looks good in the pattern. I'd recommend this pattern to a strong beginner and above.

Great quick knit

I did this as part of a KAL. It was great fun! It knits up quickly and the pattern is easy to follow. I will be making two more in different colorways.

Warm and cozy showcase for shawl pin art

Written by Carole Finger on 22nd Jan 2014

An enjoyable pattern meant to be closed with a shawl pin giving you a showcase for your shawl pin collection. Quick too. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the pattern is a pdf download printed on a light gray background. I was not offered a printed option. The gray background is pretty, but a waste of ink! I wish designers would consider such things.

A Real Serendipity Find

Written by Ellie Clausen on 17th Jan 2014

This pattern is a real jewel. I will definitely be using this pattern for 2014 Christmas gifts. My gauge was right on the mark. I had sufficient yarn for the project using one skein. However, I just made it. Absolutely love this pattern. Hugs and God bless, Miss Ellie

Need more yarn

I love the design-bar none - BUT- my gauge was spot on and I still needed to purchase more yarn . It is not true that it only takes one skein

Great pattern!

I knit this for my Mother whose neck is always feeling the draft. It was completed in just a few hours and she absolutely loves it! The scarf wraps beautifully and the knitting of it was a joy!

Pattern has corrections, son't know how any one finished it. Also don't know why after 4 entries Noble will not post my comment.
