Lilas, French for “lilac”, is the product of inspiration from some beautifully colored yarn.  It is knit from the top down in one piece and requires no seaming at the end.  Its big, floppy collar and relaxed style make for a chic and versatile piece that looks fantastic layered with long sleeves or over tanks and dresses.  Quick and simple, this is a great sweater for beginning knitters.

You will need:

• 8 (9, 10, 11, 12, 14) skeins Shibui Heichi Yarn OR 690 (800, 885, 995, 1080, 1190, 1275) yards worsted weight yarn
• Size US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle (XS-M should use at least 40”/ 100cm; L-3XL should use at least 60”/ 150cm).  Same size of needle preferred for working sleeves in the round (e.g. DPNs, two circular needles, or long enough for Magic Loop)
