I have made this sweater many times now. No two are the same. The offset closure makes it unique and kinda fancy! I vary the sock yarn and the closure for the sweater, using ribbons or buttons. I have matched the button to the yarn color or used novelty buttons. Everyone I've knitted it for loves it! You must try this pattern, you will not be sorry.

I knit this for 2 different newborns and the sweaters turned out WONDERFUL! I used a self-striping sock yarn, and that worked great (it didn't self-stripe, but I didn't really expect or want it to.) This pattern is knit as one piece. You cast on when you get to the sleeves. It was SUPER simple but looks great. You really get a lot of "Bang" for your buck with this pattern. I made a simple rectangular shaped hat to go with it (with tassels at the 2 corners). This was a GREAT gift. The moms-to-be LOVED the sweater.
