Pam Powers Monarch Scarf and Cowl Knitting Patterns

Two fabulous knitting projects in one pattern! Designed by Pam Powers, Monarch includes a reversible cable and seed stitch scarf has pull-through slots, so no tying is necessary. The cowl buttons through the cable twists. Short-row shaping creates stylish diagonal ends.

Scarf Measures: 7'' wide x 53" long. 

Cowl Measures: 7 3/4" wide x 31" long

You will need: 

• Scarf: 7 skeins of Ewe Ewe Wooly Worsted Yarn or worsted weight yarn.  
• Cowl: 4 skeins of Shibui Merino Alpaca Yarn or worsted weight yarn.
• Scarf: US size 6 straight needles. 
• Cowl: US size 7 straight needles. Medium-size crochet hook (for provisional CO). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Gauge: Scarf: 21 sts and 30 rows = 4'' / 10 cm in Seed Stitch. Cowl: 20 sts and 29 rows = 4'' / 10 cm in Seed Stitch.
