Grace Akhrem - Cappa Italia Cabled Cowl Knitting Pattern

An intermediate pattern for the adventurous knitter.  I love that this pattern offers two versions.  Version one, uses fingering/lace weight yarn, where the second version uses worsted weight yarn.  This pattern has written instructions for two versions.  Both are perfect for those cool winter days.

Finished Measurements:  Version A- Length: 13 1/2"-circumference: 23", Version B- Length: 15"-circumference: 18"

Gauge: (make sure to check the gauge in the round)- Version A: 30 sts and 40 rnds = 4” in pattern on size 3 U.S. needles.  Version B: 17 sts and 20 rnds = 4” in pattern on size 8 U.S. needles.

You will also need:

• Version A:  1 hank Knit One Crochet Too Crock-O-Dye Yarn OR 400 yards lace/fingering wt yarn.
• Version B: 4 hanks Plymouth Baby Alpaca Worsted Yarn OR  400 yards worsted wt.
• Version A: Size 3 U.S. (3.25 mm) 16” circular needles; Size 0 U.S. (2 mm) 24” circular needles, size D (3.25 mm) crochet hook. Approximately five yards fingering wt waste yarn.
• Version B: Size 8 U.S. (5 mm) 16” circular needles; Size 5 U.S. (3.75 mm) 24” circular needles, size H (5 mm) crochet hook. Approximately five yards worsted wt waste yarn 
• 1 locking stitch marker
• 1 cable needle (appropriate size cable needle for your yarn gauge
