This effect is often left to machines, then when wound, the balls of yarn begin at different places in the color striation (often an issue with Noro Kureyon). That can be very annoying when you are trying to duplicate a project or create an entire garment. You won't have that problem with this collection - each ball is painted so that it includes every color in the order you expect.
